The manufacture date for Beretta shotguns is marked next to or close to the Italian proof marks on the barrel and the receiver. This is true for O/Us and Semi-autos made in Italy. For guns since 1975, you will find a mark that is a small square with a 2 character code inside the square.

  2. The slide should be marked 'p.beretta cal. 9 corto-mo 1934 Brevet Gardone VT.' This inscription is followed by the date of manufacture that was given numerically,followed by a roman numeral that denoted year of manufature on the Fascist calendar which began in 1922.This model was the most common Pre-war Beretta pistol and was widely used by all branches of the italian military.
